I have deployed a bot that has been running for about the last three months and that has gone down for a second time now. Today sometime between 15:55 and 17:52 ECT the console was apparently restarted, and the bot went down. When I look at the bash history all the recent commands are gone and I can only see the first 86 commands that I used in a very old session. can anyone please give me a hint on what happened, and how to prevent this from happening in the future?

We do not keep consoles running forever. They need to be restarted to manage the service. You can use scheduled tasks for things that you want to run periodically or always on tasks for things that you want to run continuously.
